Photo release

Sign this if you are happy for Le Café Studio to show photographs of you, or of your child, from your session. It takes two minutes. The full terms are below the form, and you can withdraw your permission for future uses at any time.

The terms

Who this is between

This release is between Le Café Studio of Calgary, Alberta (the studio, we, us) and the person named in the form (you). If the person in the photographs is under 18, you sign as their parent or legal guardian, and you confirm you have the authority to do so.

What you give us permission to do

You give the studio permission to use photographs and video of you from the session named in the form, in whole or in part, edited, cropped or retouched, in print and online, now and in the future, anywhere, without payment, for: the studio's portfolio and website; the studio's social media; printed samples, albums and displays; exhibitions, competitions and features about the studio's work; and material that promotes the studio.

We may show your first name with the images unless you tick the box in the form asking us not to.

What we will not do

We will not sell your image, licence it to anyone else, or use it to endorse a product or service without a separate written agreement with you. We will not use an image of you in a way that is false, misleading or demeaning.

Approval

You do not need to see or approve the images, or the way they are used, before we use them.

Who owns the photographs

The studio owns the copyright in the photographs. This release is your permission to us; what you may do with your own copies is set out in your session agreement, not here.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw this permission for future uses at any time by writing to hello@lecafestudio.com. Within 30 days we will take the images down from the website, social media and every other channel we control. We cannot recall copies that were printed, published or shared by others before then.

Your personal information

We collect the information in this form under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, to record your consent and to contact you about it. We keep the signed release for as long as we use the images and for the period our records require. Our privacy page says how we handle information generally; questions go to hello@lecafestudio.com.

Release of claims

In return for the session and the photographs, you release the studio, its photographers and anyone it authorises from any claim arising from a use this release allows, including claims for defamation, invasion of privacy or misuse of your likeness, to the extent Alberta law permits.

The law, and your signature

This release is governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Alberta, and the courts of Alberta decide any dispute about it. Typing your name in the form and sending it is your signature under Alberta's Electronic Transactions Act and binds you as a signature in ink would. This page is the full text of the release.
