It was sudden...
I had no idea Baroness was coming to Calgary until I sat straight up in bed staring at my phone with excitement.
They would be here in 2 days and I needed to act fast so I reached out to a friend at F7 Entertainment, who was promoting part of their Canadian tour, and asked if I could get a media pass.
I was put in contact with marketing and asked if I was shooting as a freelance or for an outlet -- and that's when shit got wild fast. I reached out to an old editor of mine from 20 years ago, Glenn Alderson, who now runs Range Magazine in Vancouver and asked if I could shoot on their behalf. The email was part catching up, part portfolio, and part favour from someone who hadn't heard from since before Spotify was around.
I got a reply the next day from a kind Alderson who accepted my request and told me what his magazine needed - 6-8 photos I loved the most by the next morning.
Culling 1350+ photos with an editing session lasting until 1am later, and I had the following to provide to Range. Have to admit that I'm really proud of the shots and excited to continue this vertical.
